I am a psychologist in private practice in the Southern Suburbs, Cape Town. I have been providing psychology services, consulting in both Afrikaans and English, for more than 22 years. During my career, I have been simultaneously involved in teaching and psychology, working for the Education Departments of the North West Province and the Western Cape.
I provided psychological services to students from both primary and secondary schools situated throughout the North West Province and now in and around the Cape Town metropole. My work has afforded me the opportunity to work with a variety of people of all ages and with a wide spectrum of psychological challenges.
I have been intensively involved in helping learners, students, adolescents and adults with learning difficulties, attention deficit disorders with or without hyperactivity, mood and anxiety problems, trauma and relationship challenges. My exposure to the educational sector, to children in the foundation/elementary, intermediate and senior phases (Grade 0 to 12) has given me the opportunity to render a unique service. My core service includes assessments: child development; school readiness; career path and scholastic evaluation. My focus is mostly on identifying learning difficulties and making recommendations. I believe that early diagnosis and strategic interventions will create a more controlled, healthier environment which will assist learners positively to overcome learning barriers.
My passion lies in working with people - adults, young adults (students), adolescents, children and families – to gain a better understand of individual cognitions, emotions and behaviours. Through the application of Psychotherapy and psychometric assessments, I am able to assist the individual to realise and understand more fully personal difficulties and limitations affecting personal growth and to determine the best way to manage and, as far as possible, overcome these challenges.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Psychology (MA Psychology) and a Degree in Higher Education (HED). I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a counselling psychologist. I am also trained in clinical psychology and hypnotherapy (advanced)and have also worked extensively in the field of educational psychology.

My area of services are in the Southern Suburbs and the greater Cape Town Metropole, including Somerset West and Helderberg area, South Africa.
My fees are based on medical aid rates but fees are negotiable and tailor made for every client in advance of rendering the required service.
Clients are permitted to terminate therapy at any stage. The same applies should a client wish to decline participation in, or withdraw from, any recommended intervention, assessment or event he or she is not entirely comfortable with.
